Every time I see a chicken or pictures of chickens the first thing that comes to mind is an old Tyson chicken commercial where the announcer says “We don’t sell fat yellow chickens”. So, of course, I have to put a southern draw to it and announce “we don’t sell no fat yeller chickens!”

Silly, I know.

Anyway, I was asked to draw a chicken, more specifically, a game rooster. (definitely not a fat chicken and they stand really upright!) I decided that it wouldn’t be very interesting in pencil so I started it in watercolor. This is it, thus far. We’ll see where it goes from here. (and below is the updated piece)
