slump

My morning routine is generally coffee and reading. As the morning sunlight streamed across the wall with bands of light, I thought about how long it has been since I have picked up a pencil or brush.

Ah, it’s the dreaded slump. Uncommon? No. Aggravating? Yes. This particular slump includes not only pencils and paint, but also guitars and pianos. Good grief.

  1. I think the slumps in an artist’s creative activity are normal and should not only be expected but embraced. In my experience, they typically lead to periods of increased creative activity and often result in artists making some of their best work.

I look forward to seeing what you do next.

  2. Thanks Adam! Hope you and Sally are doing well. It has been crazy the past couple years- the past year nothing creative has transpired. I will be sure to let you know how it goes. Y’all give me a call sometime!
